A burg in the ham is worth...

Friend Jo reminded me of this Yorkism this weekend...

If you're a Yorker, which is right:

A) Hamburger barbecue
B) Hamburg barbecue
C) Sloppy Joe

And, is there a difference between these three things? Discuss. My "correct" answer to come later this week. (By the way... if you search on Google images for "hamburg barbecue," it asks you, "Did you mean hamburger barbecue?" Stupid Google.)

I am going to guess B for Yorkers. And while I think there are different ways to prepare all of the above, the end result is relatively all the same.

OMG!! This is so hilarious you posted this! I (a Yorker, born, raised and bred) say "hamburg barbecue." That's how my parents have always said it. My husband, who's from out Philly-way, thinks I am insane when I say this. He gets so frustrated and says "What the heck is hamburg barbecue?!" Hamburg isn't a word! It's hamburger!"

I love saying this to drive him nuts.
