My mom and I decided to take a trip out to SaveSmart last Wednesday, just to see how it was.
I was a little surprised that, for just having opened two days before, it wasn't packed. I hope that doesn't mean it'll close, because we had a great - and cheap - trip.

All in all, we got 37 items for a grand total of $55.28. So what were some of the best buys?
Canned chunk white tuna (a name brand... Starkist I think) for 97 cents a can.
Mini Warm Delights, a pack of two for 99 cents (they're normally, like, $2 or more!)
Campbell's tomato soup for 55 cents a can.
Two packets of onion soup/dip mix for 77 cents.
A big jug of bleach for cleaning, $1.27.
Tissues that I promised I'd donate to my daughter's school... 95 cents a box, and they were big boxes.
Bananas, 47; cents a pound.
Grapes (and they were the BEST grapes!) for $1.27 a pound.
And, my favorite, dishwasher detergent, a big Cascade-sized box (not name brand, though) for 97 cents!
It's definitely worth checking out.

Not impressed. Save-A-Lot has bleach for much less, bannanas are 33 cents per pound, grapes are 99 cents a pound, and most everything else you bought for much less money. Hmmmm... and I was going to go check it out. I think I'll save the gas and time. Thanks for your info!
