If you read this blog, you're probably interested in York County. And if you happen to have lifelong ties to York, you might be interested in the South Central Pennsylvania Genealogical Society, which happens to be holding its November meeting today.

The group is going to meet at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 309 S. George St. in York. Business meeting is at 2:15 p.m.; then, at 2:30, there's going to be a program on the history of St. Mary's Parish, from 1852 to the present day, presented by longtime parish member James Geubtner.

The society says anyone is welcome. If you want details on today's event or want to learn more about the society, you can call Cynthia Hartman at 927-9396.

My name is Joan and I'm a lifelong Yorker. Throughout high school and college, I swore I was getting out of here as soon as possible. Now, a few years later, I can't think of anywhere I'd rather be. I love my town. And, as a local editor, I hear every day how much you love your towns, too. So please, connect with me and let's share what makes life in York County great. I'm here to help you enjoy this place as much as I do!
