In case you hadn't heard...

A true "Only in York County" legend passed away last week.

Larry S. Geier Sr., who was best known for riding in parades and around town with his basset hounds on his motorcycle, died Sunday the 23rd. He was 64.

I never talked to Larry. I didn't even know that was his name until columnist Mike Argento wrote a story on him a few years back. But I'd seen Larry - and the bassets, Felony and Malicious Mischief - so many times that I felt I did know him.

And it's a sight that I, and probably many others around York County, will definitely miss.

My name is Joan and I'm a lifelong Yorker. Throughout high school and college, I swore I was getting out of here as soon as possible. Now, a few years later, I can't think of anywhere I'd rather be. I love my town. And, as a local editor, I hear every day how much you love your towns, too. So please, connect with me and let's share what makes life in York County great. I'm here to help you enjoy this place as much as I do!
