Welcome to 2009!

Most of the first day of 2009 is gone. I had a great New Year's Eve with Hubby and my best friend and his fiance; we went to Mount Joy for dinner at Bube's Brewery's Catacombs and then stayed at the MeadowView K farm guest house for the night; got back home this morning and have just been having a relaxing day since.

Pictures of our trip to come once I get back to work and get them off the camera. For now, here's a view of the farm from its Web site:

We talked at dinner about what our best memories were from 2008. Today, we talked with our daughter about what her best 2008 memories were, and we talked about what good things we hope happen in 2009.

I didn't really make a "resolution" this year. I'd like to be happier, lose weight and keep the house neater, but I'm not sure those count. They're not very specific, and honestly, I say that every year. But who knows? Maybe this will be it!

Anyone out there make any resolutions? Want to share? (Or, what were your best 2008 memories?)

Happy New Year Joan:
2008 had its ups and downs, but the trip we took to Avalon and seeing our brother Dave after such a long while were good times. Also meeting our BIL-to-be, John, and seeing Carol happy with him made 2008 an excellent year. My resolution is to try to enjoy whatever 2009 brings and be present for it rather than rush through the parts I don't like trying to get to the parts I do...because it should all be the good parts!
Love, Weez

My name is Joan and I'm a lifelong Yorker. Throughout high school and college, I swore I was getting out of here as soon as possible. Now, a few years later, I can't think of anywhere I'd rather be. I love my town. And, as a local editor, I hear every day how much you love your towns, too. So please, connect with me and let's share what makes life in York County great. I'm here to help you enjoy this place as much as I do!
