McLocal

mcdonalds.jpgIt's been a while since I shared one of my Page-A-Day Web sites with you, but today's got me thinking in a local way.

It's a page of McDonald's "local adaptations" in its foreign locations. You know, the Greek Mac in a pita, the Indian Chicken Maharaja Mac, the McKebab in Isreal, the Candaian McLobster Roll, and even the German McFeast, which you can wash down with beer.

So I started thinking... what if our local McDonald's tried to immerse itself in our culture? Would we get the McScrapple Deluxe? The McPretzel, in which your burger is served on a pretzel roll?

C'mon, have fun with this. What are your suggestions?

You know I got your back on this one!!!

York McDonald's regional Menu additions:

Breakfast Menu:
McScrapple Sandwich
Scrapple as a side for the Big Breakfast
Packets of King Syrup for a choice of topping for said Scrapple

Sandwich Menu:
McHam & Cheese Pretzel Sandwich
McMeatloaf Sandwich (served hot or cold)
McHoagie

Side Menu Items:
Chow-Chow Salad
Macaroni or Potato Salad (Yellow, of course)

So, OK, I stole some of the things you mentioned, give me another day and I'll probably have more for you. The next time I get to a McD's here in Austria, I'll try and get a menu and send you some pictures of the local tastes (like the McSchnitzel - YUM!!!).

The largest McD's in the world is in OK. It's an enormous interstate overpass with it's own exit. You can eat and watch traffic pass under you. Careful, this leads to motion sickness in children. The food was standard menu McD's but the venue was spectacular. Now thats a Happy Meal.

This is so cool!
How about Hogmaw McNuggets? For dessert; Shoofly McPie.

While I don't have any creative ideas for additional menu items... I just wanted to say that I would LOVE to try Candaian McLobster Rolls!!

My name is Joan and I'm a lifelong Yorker. Throughout high school and college, I swore I was getting out of here as soon as possible. Now, a few years later, I can't think of anywhere I'd rather be. I love my town. And, as a local editor, I hear every day how much you love your towns, too. So please, connect with me and let's share what makes life in York County great. I'm here to help you enjoy this place as much as I do!
