April showers bring May flowers; March showers bring... hail!

Yesterday's sudden hail storm and possible tornado were among our biggest stories online this weekend. I was off for the day, celebrating Sarah's birthday with family at a game-playing party, and we couldn't believe it when the hail suddenly started falling.

That's Chris with a handful of hail.

The interesting thing here is, this is LESS THAN A MINUTE after it started hailing!

Thankfully, we avoided the major damage faced by many people around York County.

The hail was unreal here in Lancaster County. Much of it was the size of a super high bounce ball. I watched helplessly as it pelted my poor car. I must admit that it was the largest hail that I have ever seen.

My name is Joan and I'm a lifelong Yorker. Throughout high school and college, I swore I was getting out of here as soon as possible. Now, a few years later, I can't think of anywhere I'd rather be. I love my town. And, as a local editor, I hear every day how much you love your towns, too. So please, connect with me and let's share what makes life in York County great. I'm here to help you enjoy this place as much as I do!
