Thanks to the good example set by Pat over at The Southpaw, I've figured out how to use polls on the ol' blog.
If you don't vote, though, I'll feel silly. So please vote!
Today's poll is in honor of this week's Weekly Record feature on the best recipes for local fruits.
So, pick your favorite, and also feel free to leave me a comment telling me where you buy your local fruit. We often get ours at the Farmers Market, or at either Brown's in Springfield Township or Whitceomb's in West Manchester Township, but I am always open to new places!

I've never had peaches anywhere as good as the ones I've eaten in York County, so they've got my vote. :)
But I almost voted for cherries, because when I was little ( a looooonnng time ago!) there were a couple of cherry trees back of the old high school in Manchester, and my grandpa and I would go back there and he'd hold me up so I could pick them. I have no idea what kind of cherries they were, but they were deep, dark red and very tart and juicy. I can remember the taste to this day.
Well, I don't eat fruits but I do remember a little orchard just north of Emigsville that we went to every fall to pick apples, watch them make apple butter and cider and of course buy some. unfortunately the name escapes me and I don't even know if they are still around. I also remember them opening up the strawberry fields around this time for 'pick-your-own' strawberries. Sorry Joan I cannot vote but this memory is quite lasting and maybe someone will know the name of this Orchard...for some reason I think it was Hoffman's but I am sure that is not right.
Picked four quarts of the biggest and most delicious strawberries at Dover's Barefoot Farm on Friday. As soon as my bod heals from all that bending over & stooping & I can move again without inflicting great pain on myself I'll be back for lots more. Berries, that is.
Fortunately, blueberries, which are excellent for the heart, become plentiful just as strawberries go out. They are my second most fav. And then there are cherries, peaches, plums, apples, cantaloupes. I vote 'em all in!
Forge Hill Orchards...Mt. Wolf...all hail Google! lol
