Have you missed me? I took this week off to celebrate my daughter's first week of fourth grade. Boy, I'd love to be a stay-at-home mom; this week has just been awesome.
Tonight's adventure in domesticity was a particularly good one. Lest you think that all I do is eat at the various dining establishments of York County, no, I do make food at home too, and here's proof - a photo of Sarah making homemade ice cream tonight.

It's not quite done chilling yet, but it soon will be. It's cookies and cream, and we're really looking forward to trying it!
So what are your favorite ice cream flavors? I need suggestions for the next time we make it!

My favourite flavour of homemade ice cream has always been vanilla, which may sound boring--but top it with sliced York County peaches and it's anything BUT boring. *drools*
I'm a fan of the fruits. Raspberry ice cream? Strawberry ice cream? SNOZZBERRY ice cream!
So far with ours we've made strawberry, vanilla (w/ real vanilla beans, expensive, but gooood), heath bar crunch, mint chocolate chip and chocolate chip. So far, my favorite has been mint chocolate chip. I actually like it on the softer side.
Good old classic vanilla ice cream with vanilla beans. My childhood favorite. I just can't get enough of it.
I love ice cream. It has to be very smooth, with no snozzberries or vermishish canits in it. I really want an ice cream maker, that way I could make my own suuuuper smooth ice cream. If you don't want to make your own ice cream mix, Turkey Hill sells basic flavors here in Lancaster County (the hinterlands-I know). It runs $7.99 for a gallon (which is a great deal in light of our crappy 1.5 qt containers for $3.99). Give it a try sometime, if you are over this direction-I know grocery stores carry it and perhaps some of the many Turkey Hills stores. Enjoy your ice cream!
