So, while eating lunch the other day with Hubby at the Lyndon Diner, I was reading their placemat full of advertising.
And I came upon an event that sounds kind of fun: A "Pennsylvania Game Dinner."
It's 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12, and it says it is "a dinner of pheasant, trout, venison, and other indigenous treats" served at 6330 South River Drive in Hellam Township, on the banks of the Susquehanna.
It says to call 252-1521 for reservations, but the placemat didn't list the venue itself. Of course, since I live online, I just had to look it up. It's at the Accomac Inn - so you know it'll be nice. This Web site has more details.
As I was on the Accomac's Web site, I found out that they're having a Ghost Dinner tomorrow (Thursday) and Friday. Not sure if you can still get in on that or not, but it definitely sounds fun!
What do you think? Yay or nay on eating "indigenous treats" like venison and pheasant?

U-G-H!
You MUST attend this event. It is your sworn duty as a Yorker and Pennsylvanian to know just what fod is available outside the norm in your homestate!!! Being a former hunter and fisherman in God's little slice of heaven on earth, I have eaten most, if not all, of the game available in PA and have to say YUM!!!! Trust me, if Hubby and I are so much alike...he will absolutely LOVE the food!!! As parents we tell our kids don't turn your nose up at something until you have tried it...this is your chance to live your teachings (haha)! Then you can make an experienced decision for future food ventures involving game food. Please go and have a great time...The Accomac is TOP NOTCH too!!!
Greating from Austria!
Bis später!!

I would totally do that! Ex fiancee #2 used to hunt Dove's and I was grossed out but I'll try almost anything once. Sounds fun. But then again I can't get Erik to even eat vegetables (made pasta with Broccoli this weekend and he wont touch it) and I wont go out like that on my own so I'll just have to wonder... We should have like a PA Dutch potluck!
Just have to say, Tracey...that is a good ol' fashioned Yorker response!!! PA Dutch Pot-Luck! Gotta love it!!!
