You know what I haven’t had in a while?

hot-dog2.jpgI was thinking. You know what I haven’t had in a while? A good hot dog. In fact, I haven’t had any hot dogs lately, because I’m back on the eating-healthy-and-exercising wagon for the new year.

But I was going through some old e-mails and found this one from commenter Randi, and it really got me hungry for a good hot dog.
She wrote: “You keep talking about hot dogs, what about the ones from the old Sears at the York County Shopping Center? They are the first I can remember of the dogs made on the rollers. That was the only reason I liked to go to Sears.”

Roller-dogs are definitely the best; I still vote for Hills as having had the best roller-made hot dogs back in the day, but I do remember having them at the old Sears, too. Does anyone else?

I can remember eating hotdogs at Sears when I was only five years old..That was back in the earl 70’s when my father and I would visit to look at tools.Ketchup and the fresh cut onions were my favorite…Thanks for bringing up a childhood memory…

We didn’t go to Sears much when I was a kid, but Icee’s and roller hot dogs and popcorn at Hills are a fond memory. My first tax paying job I’d eat Chilli Cheese dogs all teh time in the snackbar because other than boiling, I don’t like my hot dogs any other way. (BBQ Char = EW!)Now I’m hungry for one!

Love, love, love Sears hotdogs made on the rollers. That was the best hotdog I ever had. They used to have one of those soda machines where you put in your dime and a cup would fall down the chute and the Root Beer would pour in. Brings back a lot of memories. Nathan hotdogs come close but not as good as the Sears hotdogs I had as a kid.
