So the winner for the best M of York County is…
Martin’s Potato Chips! These were suggested by a friend from church, Lorie, who writes: “I prefer the Kettle Cooked!” Hubby said these had his vote – “Gotta be Martin’s,” he said. While I admit that in general I’m a bigger Utz fan, I really, really, really love Martin’s Bar-B-Q Waffle chips.
Jo was funny; her first instinct was Martin Library, but then she decided “it would be considered no less than treason to select anything other than Martin’s chips.”
Now it’s time to start voting for your favorite N and to post comments with suggestions for the best O for next week’s poll, if you haven’t already. Can you believe we’re more than halfway done the alphabet??
About this blog
My name is Joan and I'm a lifelong Yorker. Throughout high school and college, I swore I was getting out of here as soon as possible. Now, a few years later, I can't think of anywhere I'd rather be. I love my town. And, as a local editor, I hear every day how much you love your towns, too. So please, connect with me and let's share what makes life in York County great. I'm here to help you enjoy this place as much as I do!

My entry for the letter “O” is Oyster Fest.
From York County Heritage Trust web-site: “The Oyster Festival is the longest running Special Event of the York County Heritage Trust. Festival attendees should be prepared to fest their eyes on a plethora of good eatins’ and thirst-quenching drinks. Since it is held on the grounds of the Colonial Complex, not only will you be able to eat your heart out, but you’ll be feeding your colonial appetite as well with Colonial Days. Join colonial artisans, farmers, soldiers and housewives in colonial dance. Feel like playing games? Then test your eye-hand coordination as you enjoy the numerous children’s activities – educational of course! Feel like you need some order in your life? Join the Pennsylvania Militia as they drill on the green. These events plus many more, coupled with good food and spirits make this an entertaining, unforgettable, and educational experience.”
for the O….how about “Old York street fair?”.
