About this blog
My name is Joan and I'm a lifelong Yorker. Throughout high school and college, I swore I was getting out of here as soon as possible. Now, a few years later, I can't think of anywhere I'd rather be. I love my town. And, as a local editor, I hear every day how much you love your towns, too. So please, connect with me and let's share what makes life in York County great. I'm here to help you enjoy this place as much as I do!

Even more Salvo’s memories
My post back in March about Salvo’s in Dover generated a lot of very positive memories. I can tell everyone else loved that place as much as I did. Here are a few thoughts: From new commenter Lynda Kindig: “Salvo’s … Continue reading

Nothing compares to Dianne’s barbecue
Note from Joan: I have a special newsroom friend guest-blogging for me today. Caryn, one of my copy editors, is a Central grad, a lover of all things organizational (like me!) and, most importantly, a way better cook than me. … Continue reading

I’m not alone in my parking lot phobia

I shouldn’t be allowed to watch movies
When I watch movies, I can’t help but look for York County connections. That’s how I ended up with that Cameron Mitchell post from Hubby. Well, the aforementioned Hubby and I are geeks. I don’t guess that’s a big shocker, … Continue reading
