Reader photo: Dentsply!

Another reader photo of an “Only in York County” sight:
What: Dentsply’s offices in the Susquehanna Commerce Center in York
By: Dianne Bowders of York Township
Something unusual: Dianne writes: “Dentsply began in New York City in 1899 as ’20th Century Teeth.’ George Whitely, a ceramist, was innovative when he embedded platinum split-ring anchors into ceramic teeth for better holding power in the base, greatly reducing breakage. The company has since expanded to serve world-wide “prosthetic, preventative and restorative” dental needs.” Here’s a cool look at the “House that Dentsply Built,” the Box Hill Mansion in Spring Garden Township.

About Joan Concilio

My name is Joan and I'm a lifelong Yorker. Throughout high school and college, I swore I was getting out of here as soon as possible. Now, a few years later, I can't think of anywhere I'd rather be. I love my town, and I hear every day from readers who love their towns, too. So please, connect with me and let's share what makes life in York County great. I'm here to help you enjoy this place as much as I do!
