Meet Joan

My name is Joan and I'm a lifelong Yorker. Throughout high school and college, I swore I was getting out of here as soon as possible. Now, a few years later, I can't think of anywhere I'd rather be. I love my town. And, as a local editor, I hear every day how much you love your towns, too. So please, connect with me and let's share what makes life in York County great. I'm here to help you enjoy this place as much as I do!

Print your own York International Animal-Time Coloring Book!
Joan Concilio found a copy of an undated York Corp. animal-themed coloring book. The maker of large refrigeration equipment distributed this book to describe its products to both kids and parents.

Get outside, York County!
Today’s weather was simply beautiful here, despite a VERY brief thunderstorm. I understand it was worse in some parts of the county, but we were very lucky. We headed outside in the late afternoon to the former Hawk Lake golf … Continue reading

See some amazing Christmas lights in Manchester Township
Sunday night, after a very interesting and fun impromptu Christmas pageant at my mom’s church, our family of four took a drive around the area to see what Christmas lights we could find. There were tons that were very nice, … Continue reading

2011 York Fair: Food with a friend, Part 2
Hello everyone! I’m one of Joan’s best friends, Tracey. As she’s warned you, I’m guest-blogging today. I feel like one of those radio callers having a ‘long-time listener, first-time caller’ moments. If you’re a frequent reader of her blog, as … Continue reading

Today’s visit to the York Fair came with a special guest: One of my best friends, Tracey, also a lifelong Yorker and as die-hard of a fairgoer as I am! She agreed to take on the task of helping me … Continue reading
