Man, I'm awful at keeping secrets, so it feels so good to be able to tell you to check out the new York Daily Record/Sunday News online.
We've been working on this for months, and now that's it live, we've got a few more changes to make as we go. But I'm hoping you'll find this new look better for a lot of reasons.
So you read this great blog. (I know there must be at least a dozen of you, not counting the people who work for me. That's a start!)

I voted! (But I lost my sticker, which I found very disappointing.)
Did you vote? How'd it go? We had lines at my polling place (Normandie Ridge, West Manchester Township), making this the first time in probably six or seven voting there that I had to wait.
Now that my votes have been cast, I'm excited to be working the night shift tonight, bringing you results on ydr.com after the polls close. It's fun to be here in the newsroom on election nights... except for how Jim tends to hover a little! (Just kidding, Jim!) Besides, that's part of what makes the night so neat - everyone's here.

A few highlights:
From the "News about Joan" end of things: I have a large cast on my arm. Turns out, my wrist wasn't just sprained, but also broken.
From the Yorker end of things: I went to my first varsity football game of the season last night. We won! (Sorry, York Catholic fans.) It was incredibly cold. And I couldn't wear a glove on one hand, because of the cast mentioned above.
Meanwhile, from the online editor end of things: We've been busy here at the paper gearing up for Tuesday's election. We've got the Voters' Guide online now, and we'll have result highlights throughout the night on Tuesday. (Drop by and leave me comments that night; I'll be working the late shift to help bring you those results!)
