EMPLOYMENT: Animalearn Intern

Animalearn, the educational division of The American Anti-Vivisection Society, at 801 Old York Road, Suite 204; Jenkintown, PA 19046 (www.animalea rn.org/home. php), is looking for a college/university intern who wants to help with campaigns aimed at ending the harmful use of animals in education.


Interns will perform research to support AAVS' campaigns and help with outreach efforts. They also provide general administrative support to the office. Additionally, interns may attend school/campus presentations, outreach events, campus and community meetings, and
press conferences.

Animalearn, founded in 1992, Animalearn houses The Science Bank, the largest free loan program for alternatives to dissection in the United States, offering more than 350 realistic models, CD-ROMS, and videos to people who don't want to harm an animal in education. Animalearn works with students, teachers, professors, parents, and community groups from K-
12, college/university, and veterinary/medical school to promote awareness of humane educational methods, and to train educators to use such resources.


Animalearn works with individuals and groups to create and implement student choice policies and state legislation that gives students the right to say "No" to harming an animal in order to learn. Animalearn also offers a humane education curriculum, Next of Kin, for grades 2-
5 and 6-9, and works to motivate and engage students toward creating a more animal-friendly environment at their school, campus, or community.
