From Animal Rescue Inc.:
On March 15th, Bam was found under a bridge in York, PA.
Bam came to Animal Rescue Inc. the morning of March 16 ... his emaciated body was so fragile, we were afraid to touch him. His tail wagged and he rewarded us with kisses as we gently examined his starved body. Radiographs revealed all 4 of Bam's legs were broken. Both front legs were broken at the wrist, while both back legs were broken near the knee. His fractures were consistent with that of a dog that had fallen from a high place and tried to land on all fours. The only thing in his tiny stomach was a spring from a ballpoint pen and what appeared to be dead grass.
Bam's will to live has amazed all of us. His gentle, appreciative nature has touched everyone's heart. Temporarily soft-casted, he awaited his appointment with an orthopedic surgeon March 19.
Bam currently weighs only 29 lbs, with all four casts included. He has been poked, prodded, pilled and examined and he repays us with kisses and tail wags. We could never turn our backs on this courageous little guy.
If anyone has seen Bam or knows any details as to how he ended up with four broken legs, lying under a bridge and left to die, we beg you to come forward and speak on Bam's behalf. If this was an intentional act of cruelty, a reward is being offered in the arrest and conviction of the monster that was capable of this atrocity.
We are creating a fund to help cover Bam's extensive medical expenses. Your local shelters do not have the funds to cover all the medical costs incurred on a daily basis, let alone a surgery and rehabilitation of this magnitude.

This is so sad. But there is a bright side that Bam is doing better and he is now surrounded by people who will love and care for him.
I hope they do catch the "monster" that did this to him.
There need to be stronger punishments for animal cruelty. All too often it's only a small fine. Animals have just as much of a right to live here... and to be respected.
I wish you a speedy recovery, Bam.
