March for the Animals draws record crowd

From Maryland SPCA:

walk0364.jpgThe 12th Annual March for the Animals was a great success. On Sunday, April 22, an estimated 6,000 people and their four-legged furry companions participated in the 1.5-mile March at Druid Hill Park. Under sunny skies, people and their pets high tailed it around the lake, competed in contests, watched demonstrations, listened to live music and had an enjoyable time.

Most important, a record-breaking $316,000 was raised to benefit the animals. This money enables The Maryland SPCA to fulfill its mission to improve the lives of pets and people in the community.

We would like to thank everyone who attended. We sincerely appreciate the generous support of our volunteers, sponsors and contributors. To view photos from the walk and see a list of our top fundraisers, go to March for the Animals.
