Paddling for Puppies

| | Comments (0)

From May 26 to June 3, Charles F. "Chuck" Long III of York and his golden retriever, Casey, will be canoeing from the headwaters of the Susquehanna River, all the way to the Chesapeake Bay (a distance of 444 miles, according to a plaque at the headwaters).

Chuck is using this trip as a fundraiser for the York County SPCA. Sponsors may contribute on a per-mile basis, or on a whole-trip basis. Anyone contributing more than $25 will receive a Paddling for Puppies T-shirt. Donations will be accepted through June 8.

To donate, call York County SPCA at (717) 764-6109; or mail to 3159 Susquehanna Trail North, York, PA 17406. You can also drop off the payment at the shelter. Make sure to specify it's for the Paddling for Puppies fundraiser.

Those donating more than $25 should leave contact information with the SPCA so Chuck can see that they get their T-shirts.
