Lovable Lacy seeks a home

| | Comments (0)

lacybeagle.jpgLacy has been participating in CPAA's HOPE (Hounds of Prison Education) Program since late August and loving every minute of it. But it's time for her to get the chance she deserves to live a happy life with a family of her own.

Lacy is a 9- year-old beagle mix and is just about as sweet as they come. Despite her sad and extremely difficult start to life, she still starts every day with hope and joy that spreads to everyone who has the pleasure of crossing paths with her.

Lacy never fails to offer a doggie kiss and a happily wagging tail to each inmate and staff member she passes during her daily routine. But, despite her outgoing personality and sweet demeanor, she has been living in rescue for years, overlooked time and time again.

In her time with the HOPE Program, Lacy has been an obedience star. She loves to learn, and has a ball at her weekly training classes.

Her handler is an "old dog" himself, and the two of them take great pride in their ability to teach each other new tricks! She has tried her paw at agility, mastering the tunnel and the jumps. She has so much fun, and she looks like a pup again when she's running the course.

Lacy's always been wonderful with her feline friends, and she's been practicing her canine manners during her training. Lacy would love a home with some kitty pals and perhaps an older, well-mannered canine companion.

Lacy has been in the HOPE Program for 10 weeks without a single application. It's unbelievable that a dog this sweet and loving would still be homeless, and we're hoping she won't have to spend yet another holiday season in limbo, wondering when her luck will change.

Lacy is available for adoption through Starfish to the Sea Animal Rescue and the HOPE program.
