Penske Trucks helps ARF

| | Comments (0)

Penske Trucks of York is donating the use of its available trucks to support the work of the Animal Rescue Food Bank (ARF), a nonprofit organization that supplies food to rescues and shelters in Pennsylvania and 10 other states.

ARF operates solely with donations and volunteers, so the waiver of the truck rental fee by Penske's District Manager Mike Shaffer and Rental Representative Nate Houer means more of ARF's resources can go to support homeless pets in rescues and shelters throughout the region.

"Every person or organization that donates their time or resources to ARF makes a major difference in the lives of homeless pets in Pennsylvania and beyond," said Barry Haynes, a founder of ARF. "Penske's generosity in donating the use of their trucks gives us a vital resource to transport the hundreds of pounds of food and other supplies that are donated to ARF each year. We are very grateful for their generosity."

ARF's resources are needed now more than ever, because of the nation's housing and economic crises. Many people have surrendered their animals because they lost their homes, or because they simply could not afford to care for them any longer.

To learn more about ARF or make a monetary donation, visit www.feedrescues.org. To volunteer your time, e-mail feedrescues@verizon.net.

Penske Trucks is at 10 Winship Road, York, PA (Manchester Township).
