Turtle Talk Three will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, at the Barnegat Township Community Center, 900 West Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ.

The all-day seminar is designed for wildlife rehabilitators, veterinarians, vet techs, zoo personnel and animal professionals interested in knowing more about these fascinating creatures.

Topics include:

Things to Eat
Nutrition for turtles and tortoises is as complex as nutrition for birds or mammals, but only in recent years is the study of reptile nutrition catching up with that of other animals.

What's Under that Shell?
A study of turtle anatomy using photos of an actual necropsy. Being familiar with the anatomy helps in dealing with shell fractures and the underlying injuries.

Take Two Worms and Call Me in the Morning
This presentation will focus on injury and disease identification, treatment, new disease threats, and diagnostics.

Turtle Husbandry
Turtles are complex creatures and so is their care. This presentation covers the essential information regarding lighting, heating, housing, and environmental enrichment for turtles and tortoises.

Cost is $25, which includes coffee, snacks, and lunch.
