Dog owners beware: Virus sickening, killing dogs

According to several reports, a deadly virus is sickening and killing dogs, and has been confirmed in Ohio and California so far.

It’s believed to be a circovirus, which is not often seen in dogs. The virus is typically found in pigs.

Symptoms include vomiting, bloody diarrhea, weight loss, neurological problems, a lack of appetite and lethargy. Left untreated, dogs can die within 48 hours. If your dog is showing any of these symptoms, contact your vet as soon as possible.
