Animal Rescue Inc.’s The Mutt Strutt & Dogs’ Day in the Park will be Saturday, Sept. 14, at Marge Goodfellow Community Park in New Freedom, PA. Rain date is Sunday, Sept. 15.
Bring your tail-wagging friends for a day of fun. The Mutt Strutt begins at 9 a.m. Walkers can register on the rescue’s website and then collect pledges. On the day of the event, walkers and their waggers will take a 1-mile walk on the York County Rail Trail by the park to raise funds for ARI. Those who qualify will receive T-shirts, goodie bags and more, and the highest fundraiser will win a 50-inch flat-screen television.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., it’s time to enjoy the festivities! Attendees can check out the booths featuring more than 70 vendors; inquire about adopting a new canine or feline friend and enjoy food by Smokin’ Carnes, Bricker’s French Fries and Pappas Kettle Corn, as well as homemade baked goods.
The event also will include doggie games and contests, such as a costume contest; the Face Only a Momma Could Love contest; Temptation Tower and Clean Your Plate. Your dog can also take his or her Canine Good Citizen Test that day.
Feeling lucky? Check out the Chinese Raffle including dozens of baskets filled with great stuff; or, you can purchase items, from the ARI sales table.
Did you adopt your pup from Animal Rescue? Now’s your chance to show them off! At 2 p.m., the rescue will
offer an ARI Reunion photo.
Attending without a furry friend? You can rent an adoptable dog from the rescue at the Rent-A-Dog booth and take him or her on a nice long stroll through the park.
