Mama cat and kittens threatened

| | Comments (0)

A local shelter has received a call for help for a mama cat and three kittens about 7 weeks old who live in a neighborhood where the neighbors are being mean to them and threatening to shoot them.

The caller's husband has cancer and the couple is leaving Monday (June 29) for Johns Hopkins, where they'll stay for 4 to 6 weeks, which means the cats will then have nobody to take care of them.

Does anyone have room for these sweet babies before something bad happens to them?

If you can help, call Dixie Heller at 717-848-5058.

Scotch is a 'lovable lug'

| | Comments (0)

darlene-scotch.jpgScotch needs to find a new home because his owner is moving and can't take him along.

He's a beautiful beige/butterscotch color. Scotch's owner said he's "a laid-back, lovable lug" who loves everyone except dogs, and likes to look out windows. He's 3 years old.

Scotch's housemates, Bailey, Chase and Gage, also need to find homes.
(That's Chase in the sink.)

Bailey loves all kinds of toys

| | Comments (0)

darlene-bailey.jpg

Bailey, a 2-year-old dark-brown tabby, needs to find a new home because his owner is moving and can't take him along.

Bailey is shy at first, and needs to have a place to hide until he feels comfortable. He loves to be petted and gets under your feet when he wants attention.

He loves tuna fish and all kinds of toys, and he's comfortable with other cats.

Bailey adores his housemate Chase, and tries to follow him everywhere. Chase, of course, tries to hide from him because he gets tired of Bailey.

Bailey's housemates, Chase, Scotch and Gage, also need to find homes.

For details, e-mail dswords@mediaonepa.com.

Chase is a snuggle bunny

| | Comments (0)

darlene-chase.jpg

Chase needs to find a new home because his owner is moving and can't take him along.

He's a 3-year-old, lovable snuggle bunny, gray with white feet, who loves everyone including kids. It's unknown how he feels about dogs.

Chase loves to curl up on your chest and purr, or lie next to you on the chair. You know when he's into something or up to something because he "talks" to himself.

His favorite toy is a cash register receipt balled up. He will fetch the paper "ball" and bring it back over and over. When he's had enough of the paper ball, he'll tear it apart.

Chase's housemates, Bailey, Scotch and Gage, also need to find homes.

For details, e-mail dswords@mediaonepa.com.

Dusty's owners lost their home

| | Comments (0)
GoldHeart Golden Retriever Rescue's Pet of the Week is Dusty, a 12-year-old Golden retriever who found himself homeless when his owners lost their home.

Although he has a fatty tumor on his forehead that won't be removed because of his age, he has gotten a clean bill of health.

Dusty is reliably housebroken, ignores cats and gets along with other dogs. He's been around children from 2 to 15 years old, and will just go lie down if they bug him too much.

If you want someone who will swim with you and go for walks, Dusty is your boy.

For details, e-mail foster@goldheart.org. An adoption application is available at www.goldheart.org.

Gage is very agile

| | Comments (0)

darlene-gage.jpgGage needs to find a new home because his owner is moving and can't take him along. He'll be 4 years old in August.

Gage is very agile and likes to be up high. He likes the laser mouse and most other toys, but prefers to play by himself.

Gage does have some minor health issues, such as some eye drainage and ear wax, which the vet said he'll have for life.

He does not "meow"; he chirrs and chortles. He does purr. The only time you will ever get a "meow" out of him is when he's in the carrier going to the vet.

Gage's housemates, Bailey, Chase and Scotch, also need to find homes.

For details, e-mail dswords@mediaonepa.com.
