Eight Lions going to NFL Combine

| | Comments (0)

Penn State is sending nearly as many players to the NFL Combine next week as anyone in the nation.

Eight Nittany Lions -- tied for the most in the Big Ten and third nationally -- have been invited to the NFL's scouting combine Feb. 18-24 at the new Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

Penn State defensive end Aaron Maybin, center A.Q. Shipley and receiver/returner Derrick Williams -- all All-Americans -- will be joined by teammates Deon Butler, Gerald Cadogan, Maurice Evans, Jordan Norwood and Lydell Sargeant.

Ohio State, Georgia and Oklahoma join the Lions with eight invitations. LSU (10) and USC (12) are the leaders.

The NFL Network will cover the combine daily. The NFL Draft is April 25-26.
