Nittany Lion recruiting nuts know Glenn Carson is the only linebacker in the recently-signed, 27-member class of 2009.
And he’s got lots of potential. He’s a four-star talent who also had scholarship offers from Notre Dame, Stanford, Boston College, North Carolina State, Maryland and Rutgers.
He’s big enough (6-foot-3, 220 pounds) and skilled enough to become another great one at Linebacker U.
But he’s also pretty good at a second sport: wrestling.
The New Jersey kid (Southern Regional High) finished second in the state the past two years at 215 pounds and just claimed his third-straight Region 6 title. And he dominated again, pinning his opponent in just 1:04.
So now he will get a third shot at that state title.

Nittany Nation is the place to go for the latest news and rumblings about the Penn State football program. Our team of contributors, led by longtime Nittany Lion beat reporter Frank Bodani, will offer perspectives and insight on PSU from the present and past, along with coverage of York County's unique connections to Penn State football.
