Bowman in more trouble?

Navorro Bowman, an All-American candidate at linebacker for the Nittany Lions, may have more legal trouble to deal with, according to a State College-area TV station.

Bowman, a junior this fall, faces a hearing today in Centre County Court concerning his probationary status, which was reported by WJAC-TV. He has been on probation since last spring for disorderly conduct, a result of charges stemming from a fight in the student union in October 2007.

Court sources have told WJAC that Bowman "recently admitted to Centre County probation officials that he has smoked marijuana at least twice since December."

The release at WJACTV.com also states that Bowman apparently has completed none of his 100 hours of court-ordered community service.

Bowman could not be reached for comment, and his mother, Johncie Bowman, said she knew nothing of problems concerning his probation.

Penn State's sports information director, Jeff Nelson, said the university has no comment at this time.

Despite not starting until last season's fourth game, Bowman grew into the team's top linebacker and finished with 106 tackles, including a stunning five tackles for loss in the Rose Bowl.
