Former Penn State verbal commitment Jamil Pollard is now back in the fold.
The highly-touted New Jersey defensive lineman was a member of this Penn State football recruiting class months ago until his academics became problematic and the Lion coaching staff pulled his scholarship offer.
But his grades have improved and the offer was given back to him recently and he has accepted, according to a report on Scout.com.
Pollard is 6-foot-3 and 270 pounds and also was looking at Boston College and Nebraska.
“Penn State’s not going to change, no matter who leaves or who stays,” he told Scout.com. “Penn State is Penn State.”
Penn State has lost a few recruits, while others are shopping around since the child-sex-abuse scandal hit in early November and Joe Paterno was fired soon after.
Pollard will be the first one to join the class of 2012 since the end of August.
