The Nittany Lions have received the 10th verbal commitment to their 2013 recruiting class.
Kasey Gaines, an undersized safety and receiver from Grayson High in Loganville, Ga., apparently told the Penn State staff of his decision last week but just made it public.
The 5-foot-10, 160-pound senior also held offers from Harvard, Howard, VMI and Presbyterian. He apparently was receiving some interest from Wisconsin and Florida International, among others.

Defensive coordinator Ted Roof’s southern ties may have helped land Georgia defensive back Kasey Gaines. Gaines made his commitment public Wednesday.
Though not highly recruited, Gaines was able to show off his speed and athleticism at one of the Penn State summer camps in June.
He is the third defensive back prospect in this class, joining Washington, D.C. cornerback Jordan Smith and Century, Fla. corner Neiko Robinson.
Each is rated as only a two-star prospect (out of five) by Scout.com.
