Former Penn State and Susquehannock star Chaz Powell has been signed to the Green Bay Packers’ practice squad.
New Freedom’s Powell was cut by the Oakland Raiders at the end of August after being picked up by the team as an undrafted free agent in April.

Chaz Powell’s versatility as a defensive back, receiver and kick returner could help him stick this time in the NFL.
He also had NFL interest, at the time, from the Buffalo Bills, San Diego Chargers, Detroit Lions, Tennessee Titans and Baltimore Ravens.
Powell is listed as a safety with the Packers, though he also played cornerback, receiver and returned kickoffs at Penn State. He was the first Nittany Lion in 20 years to start on offense and defense during his career.
Powell joins fellow York County native and Dover graduate John Kuhn in Green Bay.
