So, the biggest gambler (possible winner?) in the transfer segment of the Penn State sanctions is .¤.¤. Marshall?
Can’t imagine many would have even thought of the Thundering Herd when the first Nittany Lions began announcing their intentions of leaving last summer after the NCAA slammed Penn State for its alleged role in the Jerry Sandusky scandal.

Shawney Kersey’s football career will continue at Marshall. Just like former teammates Devon Smith and Derrick Thomas.
Kersey, who left the Lions in the middle of this past season, will be able to play immediately at Marshall because of those NCAA sanctions, according to a report by ESPN Nittany Nation.
Thomas played last year for the Herd, though Smith did not in a possible redshirt move.
Each of the three players ran into academic and/or disciplinary problems with new coach Bill O’Brien before leaving the Lions.

Nittany Nation is the place to go for the latest news and rumblings about the Penn State football program. Our team of contributors, led by longtime Nittany Lion beat reporter Frank Bodani, will offer perspectives and insight on PSU from the present and past, along with coverage of York County's unique connections to Penn State football.
