Former Penn State standout Rosey Grier is now the only surviving member of the NFL’s famed Fearsome Foursome.
Deacon Jones’ death this week hit Grier hard, “like losing a family member. We four were family,” he told USA Today.
Those four defensive linemen — which included Merlin Olsen and Lamar Lundy — starred for the Los Angles Rams.
Grier, now 80, truly began his astounding life legacy when he left his family’s Georgia farm for Penn State during Joe Pateno’s first years as an assistant coach.
Check out my column about Grier from two years ago, just after his wife died.
