Penn State football chat, 8 p.m., Tuesday, July 15

We’re chatting Penn State football on a new night this week, and it’s the perfect time to catch up on all of the happenings from last weekend’s Lift for Life event.

Tight end Jesse James was one of the standouts at Penn State's Lift for Life event.

Tight end Jesse James was one of the standouts at Penn State’s Lift for Life event.

Who looked the strongest and most impressive in the team competitions?

Who gave the best interview?

And what do you think about offensive lineman Miles Dieffenbach and Dallastown linebacker Ben Kline having a shot to return this fall from significant injuries?

Talk to me tonight from 8 to 9 or drop in a question or comment any time until then.

We also will update any recruiting happenings and rumors and also look ahead to the Croke Park Classic in Ireland.

In the meantime, check out my Lift for Life stories and my column on one of the main men behind Penn State’s season-opener in Ireland.

  1. Kevin says:

What’s the word on settle and the two corners. Plus do you think they will use the TE’s to there advantage

    • Frank Bodani says:

Well, now it seems that Jordan Whitehead and John Reid both have Alabama offers. Both don’t seem willing to make a decision soon. So I think Penn State is still in it. Just hard to predict either one as a Lion.

    • Frank Bodani says:

As for Tim Settle, he’s enjoying the recruiting process too much to worry about a decision anytime soon. The positive part of that is James Franklin can be a relentless, passionate recruiter. Maybe the coach you want in the long-run.

    • Frank Bodani says:

Kevin, you would hope James Franklin’s staff finds enough time for all of these talented tight ends. They are some of the best athletes on the team, when considering size, speed and hands. Jesse James, Kyle Carter and Adam Breneman are about to show that there isn’t a better group in the nation. And there are still two more behind them.

  2. Kevin says:

What are we hearing of sanction reductions. Is it still talked about for this year.

    • Frank Bodani says:

Kevin, there hasn’t really been any kind of sound talk about sanctions reduction … which is as expected. Many still seem to feel there is a strong chance the sanctions could be further reduced between early August and the end of September.
