Of note: Robinson committed to Penn State without ever visiting the campus … He played the 2011 season at Flomaton High (Ala.), near the Florida border. … He also had offers from Alabama, Florida State, the University of South Alabama, North Texas and Louisiana Tech, according to … He is the first Nittany Lion football recruit from Florida in more than a decade.

In his words: “Penn State is kind of a dream school for me. Even though I haven’t visited yet, I knew it was a place I wanted to go.”

“When my coach first told me Ted Roof was visiting, I was like, ‘The coach who was at Auburn when they won the national championship?'” Robinson said. “My coach said that he’s at Penn State, and he’s coming to see (me). I told him, ‘Stop playing.’ I didn’t think anything like that could happen to me. It put a smile on my face.”

“It’s a good school. They are building their program again to be what it used to be in the past. I like where the coaching staff is going. They want guys that can be game-changers, and I think I can do that on the defensive side. I want to be part of that and be there for four years of winning.”
