Near year’s end, an RTK law tally

Keeping score with the Office of Open Records, near the end of its first year of existence:

Barry Fox, the office’s right-to-know officer, said that as of Dec. 23:

  • The office had received 1,135 appeals
  • 62 of OOR’s rulings have been appealed to Court of Common Pleas; 10 have been decided.
  • 34 of OOR’s rulings have been appealed to Commonwealth Court; none has been decided

For more on the first year of the new open records law, visit the Daily Record’s Full Disclosure page and read Associated Press and Daily Record stories about a statewide audit conducted in October.

You can also keep track of OOR rulings and court rulings at the OOR Web site.
