The Obama administration started out sounding great on open government, but hasn't always lived up to its promises. And even when it has put massive amounts of data out there, the results have been (unintentionally, perhaps) cloudy rather than transparent.
But today, the federal government "will unveil official guidance that instructs agencies on how to make the federal government more open, how to bring citizens into the policy-making process and how to collaborate inside -- with government employees -- and outside -- with the public and industry," according to www.nextgov.com.
