Begin the process of buying York Revolution tickets

For a non-refundable deposit of $25 per seat, area baseball fans will soon be able to purchase what amounts to “first dibs for seat locations at the yet-to-be-built minor-league stadium that will be home to the York Revolution.

On Wednesday, the team will begin selling what it terms “priority numbers on its Web site — www.yorkrevolution.com — for inaugural-season tickets.

Those who purchase priority numbers for $25 apiece will be asked to indicate their seat location and package preference at the time of deposit, although their final choice is not required until the team’s “Select A Seat event, at a date to be announced.

Being offered are full-season plans ($595 or $490 per seat for 70 games), 24-game plans ($180 per seat), and 10-game plans ($80 per seat). For slightly more, there are options to secure tickets for the Revolution’s first and last games of their inaugural season as add-ons to the 10- and 24-game plans.

York Professional Baseball officials hope to have the proposed Arch Street stadium in York ready by June 2007. That date is not, however, guaranteed. It is not yet clear how a York expansion team in the Atlantic League — which begins its regular season in late April — would be able to have 70 “home games next year.

Priority numbers will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis and will be used to determine seat selection order at the team’s “Select A Seat event.

Fifty percent of the cost of fans’ ticket orders, minus the $25 deposit, would be due at the “Select A Seat event, with the remainder of the balance due by March 1, 2007, according to the team’s Web site.

In addition to being available online Wednesday, priority numbers will also be available at the Revolution’s fanfest event at the York Expo Center on Aug. 5, or by mailing the $25-per-seat fee to York Revolution Baseball, P.O. Box 1269, York 17405.

The new ballpark will have three categories of seats: dugout box, field box and lawn seating. Dugout box seats, located in the rows closest to the field, will only be offered on a full-season basis.
