All right, so the streak ended.

Revs fireballing closer Adam Thomas finally allowed a run in his 10th appearance of the season, giving up an unearned run in the ninth inning of the Revolution's 5-3 win against the Ducks at Camden's Campbell's Field.

But he recovered to pick up his fifth save of the season. With a 93 mph heater, and a staters' arsenal of pitches, Thomas is one of the players who should get picked up by an affiliated club sometime soon. But he's not alone.

Ryan Baerlocher, RHP
Telling stat: Four quality starts, 28.2 IP, 28 Ks, 5 BBs, 8 ER
Why he's still here? Not a flashy pitcher, but it's clear he's at the top end of pitchers at the independent level. His age (29) doesn't help.

Dave Gil, RHP
Telling stat: 5 IP, 0 ER, 3 hits
Why he's still here? Hmm. That's a tough one. His preseason injury didn't help. But perhaps scouts are scared away by his velocity. He doesn't throw the real, real hard stuff. But he doesn't need to. He touches the 90s, and locates his fastball. And his split-finger fools batters.

Nate Espy, 1B
Telling stat: batting .426 (23-for-54)
Why he's still here: Espy throws with an awkward submarine motion. If a club needs a DH, Espy is a no-brainer. But if they want him to play the field, his throwing motion will always be a concern. But if he keeps hitting ... he's not going to be playing in the Atlantic League.

Luis Taveras, C
Telling stat: batting .500 (10-for-20)
Why he's still here? He's 31. He also spent last year in Italy where old ballplayers go to collect a paycheck. That will scare off some clubs.

Still in the running: Peter Bergeron, Matt Dryer, Matt Ford and Luis Lopez.
