Etchebarren issues a statement

Revs manager Andy Etchebarren's wife Vicky died earlier this week. His wife had been battling a long illness, and the manager wanted to keep the matter private.

The Revs manager, however, issued a statement Friday.

Etchebarren's statement read:

"To all my friends, fans, sponsors, season ticket-holders of the York Revolution, I would like for you to know how much I appreciate your thoughts and prayers during this tough point in my life. Vicky is in a better place now and will suffer no longer. I want you all to know that in my short time as the York Manager, I have adopted you as my family. I want you all to know that we have worked very hard this off-season to put together a team that you will be proud of, a team with character and class that will focus on one objective and that is to bring a championship to York. Thanks again for your prayers and I look forward to seeing each and every one of you this spring."
