Released out of the Nationals organization out of spring training, LHP Jack Spradlin joined the Revs Wednesday and threw an inning of work — allowing one hit.
Spradlin, 26, spent parts of the last three seasons at Double-A Harrisburg.
“It seems ironic how I flew into Harrisburg last night (from San Diego),” Spradlin said. “I was kind of scheduled to come to Harrisburg, and now I’m coming to a team located about 30 minutes from Harrisburg.”
His father Jack played on the PGA Tour, and he caddied for his father on the Senior PGA Tour while he was still in high school.
“It was awesome experience, I got to meet all these big-name golfers, veteran guys like (Jack) Nicklaus, (Arnold) Palmer, (Tom) Kite and Chi Chi Rodriguez. Actually in pro ball Chi Chi threw out the first pitch in my first pro game. I told people at in the front office Chi Chi was coming, and they asked me to see if he wanted to throw out the first pitch. So he did it, which was pretty cool.”

Looks like two pretty decent pick-ups here to an already good pitching staff. Is there any word on Castro yet and do you believe Harrison could play shortstop or first base in the event of the return of Castro?
