Championship news from Strong Island

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. — 4:30 update: Misting rain. Wind blowing in toward home from RF corner. Tarp on the field. A couple Ducks players in right field are walking around, doing some running.

One York roster move: Revs placed outfielder James Shanks (broken right thumb) on the disabled list and activated LHP Ronnie Morales.

Ducks’ Game 1 lineup: Kennard Jones LF; Ray Navarrete 2B; Javier Colina SS; John Rodriguez DH; J.R. House C; Matt Padgett 3B; Matt Esquivel RF; Freddie Thon 1B; Kraig Binick CF.

Back in the postseason: Long Island reached the playoffs for an Atlantic League record six consecutive seasons (from 2004-09). This year marks the Ducks first return trip to the championship series since 2004. The Ducks missed the playoffs last season. York has reached the postseason in three of the last four seasons (2008, 2010-11), winning the Revs’ first league title last season. York had not won a postseason game until the 2010 season, its fourth season in the league.

Road warriors: Ducks are coming off a perfect road record in the divisional series, after beating Southern Maryland twice in Waldorf, Md.

Safe at home: York has not lost a postseason game at Sovereign Bank Stadium since Game 2 of the 2010 Atlantic League Freedom Division Championship Series.
