The York Revolution kicked off its eighth season in style Thursday evening with a 6-1 victory over the Camden Riversharks at newly named Santander Stadium.

Sean Smith, Wilson Valdez (yes, the former Phillie), Eric Patterson, and Tim Torres had two hits apiece to lead the offense and six pitchers combined to hold Camden to six hits, none after the sixth inning. Salvador Paniagua smashed a two-run home run for York.

Here is a list of season firsts from opening night.

First pitch from Chris Cody to Yasser Gomez at 7:01, a called strike.
First out: Yasser Gomez grounded out to Wilson Valdez
First hit: Jorge Cortes single to center field in the first.
First strikeout: Kilian Sams by Cody in the first.
First Revs hit: Sean Smith leading off the bottom of the first.
First run: Camden’s Bobby Stevens scored on a single by Sams in the top of the third.
First extra base hit: York’s Valdez a double in bottom of third.
First “Arch nemesis” ball: York’s Travis Garica hammered the 38-foot left field wall with one out and one on in bottom of fourth. Unfortunately for the Revs, Sharks left fielder Gomez played it perfectly holding both runners to one base.
First York run: Tim Torres, who singled, stole second and went to third on a bunt, came home on a Valdez single.
First home run: Catcher Salvador Paniagua launched a two-run blast over the left field wall in the bottom of the eighth.
