The York Revolution have announced home-game times and fireworks dates for their 2007 Atlantic League inaugural season. With a few exceptions, games will begin at 7:05 p.m. on Monday-Saturday, with Sunday home games being scheduled for 2:05 or 6:05 p.m.

Sovereign Bank Stadium will also play host to 14 fireworks nights throughout the season, mostly following Saturday night games, according to a news release issued this week.

The Daily Record asked for name suggestions for Sovereign Bank Stadium's monster left-field wall.

And the community responded.

Oh yeah, they responded.

In no particular order ... the names:

Time will name York's wall

The buzz this week around Sovereign Bank Park has been about the York stadium’s yet-to-be-
completed 38-foot wall in left field.

And like the Green Monster in Boston, there’s a belief that this wall needs a name. That might be true, but it also might be too early for that.

After all, we haven’t even seen it yet; haven’t seen what it looks like; haven’t deemed it pleasing
or ominous; haven’t observed how it plays; haven’t judged its character.

Perhaps, if we show patience, York’s unique wall will name itself — for a player who has yet to shine or a sensational play yet to be made.

Draft picks announced

The York Revolution announced the seven players it selected in the Atlantic League expansion draft.

The thing to remember about the draft is no player has been signed -- yet. The Revs only acquired the rights to negotiate with players.

Revolution Director of Baseball Operations Adam Gladstone said the first signing might not happen until the end of the month. So we could be a couple weeks away from knowing who the first Revolution player will be.

The big name here, at least for local fans is 1994 Red Lion grad Travis Hake.

But the Revs also drafted the rights to four former Major Leaguers. Here's a breakdown of who the players are and what they did last season.
