1969 — Eastern League: York Pirates
Note: League awarded York the title because it had the best regular season record (89-50) and several rainouts washed out the opening-round of the playoffs. (In best-of-three series, Pittsfield led York 1-0; Elmira led Reading 1-0.) Several players had military commitments during the Vietnam War, so the league needed to take action.
1925 — New York-Pennsylvania League: York White Roses
York defeated Williamsport 3-1 in best-of-five series
Note: York first baseman Del Bissonette (pictured above) homered in the bottom of the 11th inning to allow York to defeat Williamsport 5-3 in the fourth and final game of the series. Bissonette went on to play for the Brooklyn Dodgers.
