When a towel becomes a gazillion washcloths

Is it just me or do you wonder, too, why a washcloth, that’s not even 1/8th the size of a towel, doesn’t cost much less?

Seriously. I went shopping for some new towels and washcloths and the washcloth was $1.99 less than the towel. (Scratches head)

If I could sew, I could take one towel, cut it up, hem the edges, and get like a gazillion washcloths from it.

And now I’m thinkin’ that someone out there has probably done this. Sounds like a Smart idea (or video) to me. Seriously, how much do you think you would save? If a washcloth cost $3.99 and the towel cost $5.99 (exact same material/brand) and you took that towel and cut it apart, I wonder how many washcloths you’d get.

If you’ve done this, I’d love to know. And if you haven’t and decide to try it after reading my rant, let me know how you make out.

Sounds like something one of my podmates would do. She’s crafty and sewy and likes to save money. Maybe she’ll give it a go. Me? I can’t even sew! Well, except for a button. Now that I can do. But that’s about it.
