When someone says winter, I think cold, miserable, dark and filled with snow. We’ve avoided most of the snow so far (knock on wood), but it’s still easy to plop down on the couch when the temperatures drop.
November and December were a bustle of holiday prep and parties, keeping you moving whether you wanted to be or not. But as January sets in and that couch calls your name, Smart magazine is encouraging you enjoy winter for all it offers. From outdoor activities like skiing and hiking (yes, there are winter hikes!) to cozy indoor ideas like making your own hot cocoa, we’ll offer a tip each Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday through March.
This weekend, (Way to Enjoy Winter No. 1!) head over to York Expo Center for Greenberg’s Toy & Train Show. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Sunday, you can check out operating model train displays, free workshops and demonstrations, prize giveaways and Roaming Railroad — an actual riding train.
The York Expo Center is located at 334 Carlisle Ave., West Manchester Township. Find more details on Greenberg’s at greenbergshows.com
The combination of trains for sale and trains on display make it a fun activity for everyone from a dedicated collector to kids of all ages. Best of all, kids younger than 12 years old are admitted free. Adults, snag a two-day ticket for $7.

Sarah–I’d rather spend 30 DAYS in Florida in winter!
Believe me, Jo, if that was an option, I’d be there too!
