York woman to participate in New York Fashion Week

Sha’ Summerlin, York resident and CEO of PRIMP Agency will participate in The Code Purple Event during New York Fashion Week.

Summerlin will serve as hair/makeup director for the event, coordinating more than 40 hair and makeup artists to create looks for three featured Italian and American designers, according to a release.

The Code Purple Event, which will be held Feb. 16, will feature Moskeeto Armor, a mosquito-repellent fabric developed by ING Activewear.

The purple fabric will be used in featured collections and hair and makeup will carry the purple theme as well. The event was organized to raise awareness for the campaign against the more than 225 million cases malaria reported each year, the release said.

Summerlin is a Alabama native and mother of three. In 2009, she founded the professional styling company PRIMP Agency.
