Do you live in a rural area, where your only traffic jam is getting stuck behind a tractor once in a while? Or are you downtown in the middle of all the hustle and bustle? Somewhere in between? Either way, you moved to your town for a reason.
Maybe you enjoy being close to Gifford Pinchot State Park and having somewhere to hike or play disc golf whenever you please. Maybe you chose southern York County to be closer to a job in Baltimore — or northern York County to be closer to a job in Harrisburg. Maybe you love Gettysburg because of its historical connections.
Wherever you call home, we know you love it for a reason. And, of course, we’d love to hear those reasons.
Take a large piece of construction paper, poster board, cardboard, etc. (be creative!) and let us know why you love your town. Decorate your poster, then bring it with you to a favorite spot and snap a photo of yourself holding your sign.
I love my town because I can walk to Central Market. Yep, that’s me up there. Fresh produce, a midday break for lunch or even a weekend brunch with friends are all just a few blocks away.
Residents of York and Adams counties may submit their contest entries for a chance to win a pair of tickets to Hersheypark. Include your full name and the names of anyone else in the photo, plus a phone number and the municipality in which you live.
Submissions are due by July 13. Voting for your favorite photo runs July 14 through July 21. Entries must be submitted through the online form to be eligible for the contest.
